Features of the Black and Decker DCM600B

  • The carafe for this machine is made of Duralife glass which is beyond tough.
  • The filter basket, which is also compatible with paper filters is dishwasher safe which makes clean-ups very easy.
  • The carafe hot plate will keep your brew warm for at least an hour, so you can be sure your 2nd cup will be piping hot.

Review of the Black and Decker DCM600B

The Black and Decker DCM600B has a lot to offer. Read our in-depth review below to see if this units’ got the right features for you.

Coffee has become an integral part of our daily routines. Because we are so reliant on coffee to fuel our daily activities and strenuous work hours, it is important to make sure we are able to brew coffee that meets our standards.

There are many machines that have been created to suit our needs, but finding the perfect machine depends on your personal brewing preferences. If you have time to sit back and relax in the morning and enjoy a quality cup, the Black and Decker DCM600B was made for you.

Convenience

The Black and Decker DCM600B is fantastic for small spaces like condos, apartments, and dorms. At 4.5 pounds and just under a foot tall, this maker has found a way to perfectly package a quality brewing machine in a simple package.

The controls are very straightforward as there is only one button to push to brew.

To measure out the water, you can use the carafe (which has very accurate and clear markings) or a measuring cup. If you prefer not to use either of these options, you can rely on the water window to tell you when you have reached your desired level.

This black & decker coffee maker also offers a hot plate to keep your brew ready to drink if you wish to come back to it later instead of consuming it all in one sitting. If you often find yourself stuck in an office all day, this might work well for you.

Unfortunately There is no automatic shut off and you will not be notified when the coffee is done brewing.

You’ll need to keep an eye on your brew to avoid pulling out the carafe too soon. If the carafe is pulled out prematurely, the coffee will not stop pouring and you’ll be left with a mess on your hands.

Additionally there is also no way to program the coffeemaker to begin brewing on its own. If you don’t have enough time to wait on a cup to brew in the morning, you might want to consider buying a different model.

Cost and Quality of this Black and Decker coffee maker

In terms of cost, the DCM600B is almost unbeatable. For under $20 you can have a quality coffeemaker that is very easily operated. You’d be very hard pressed to find a coffee maker capable of brewing the same quality at a similar or lower price.

The only downside is that this model does not come with a reusable filter, although you could likely find a compatible filter online for a fair price.

One of the things that sets this maker apart is Its brewing method. Instead of pouring out through a single spout, it evenly distributes the water over the grounds, resulting in a smooth and rich taste.

You’ll be able to get a better tasting cup in minutes and save a lot of money in the process. One of the only and most annoying things about this machine is that you will only be able to brew 5 cups at a time.
